“Thank you so much for running the leadership management training course last week. What can I say, it was just brilliant! I learnt so much about myself and the staff I work with. I was amazed at how Nadeem had discreetly arranged problem solving tasks/obstacles on his arrival without me even knowing, just so he could assess my approach, reactions and emotions ahead of delivering the course – incredible! Nadeem really sets the standard for how to deliver an excellent bespoke leadership training programme based on individual training needs.”

Helping endurance athletes train SMART in North London

Managing Director of SMART Way Forward, Nadeem Shaikh will be delivering a series of endurance based athletics workshops to sports coaches and athletes at Allianz Park (formally Copthall Barnet Stadium) in October and November.

Nadeem – who is a qualified UK Athletics Level 3 Performance Endurance Coach and Vice President of Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers  – already coaches a number of endurance athletes, most of whom have regularly competed for their clubs, County and Region, as well as National and International competition.

As one of the established endurance coaches on the England Athletics National Coach Development Programme, Nadeem has had the privilege of working with and observing the training of many Team GB endurance athletes over the past few years. Many of whom represented team GB at this year’s London 2012 Olympic Games.

The project to run a series of endurance based workshops in Barnet has been organised by the North London Athletics Network. The Network includes support from athletics clubs such as London Heathside, Highgate Harriers and Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers. It is also supported by a number of sports organisations within the area, including England Athletics, Middlesex University, Pro-Active North London County Sports Partnership, The Barnet Athletics Development Group, along with the London Boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Hackney, Haringey and Islington.

“I am delighted to be asked and really looking forward to delivering these workshops on behalf of the North London Athletics Network. Athletics clubs such as London Heathside, Highgate Harriers and Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers form the backbone of athletics in North London. Committee members work tirelessly to ensure that development opportunities are always readily available to coaches and athletes. Hopefully these workshops will prove to be a great success and we can look at running additional sessions for other athletic disciplines in the months to follow,” said Nadeem.

The first series of workshops will take place on Saturday 13th October and Sunday 21st October, running from 9.30am to 12.30pm at Allianz Park, Greenlands Lane, Hendon, London NW4 1RL.
