SMART Way Forward was one of the many high profile companies offering advice and guidance to university graduates, college students, sports coaches and staff at this year’s Careers in Sport & Leisure Conference, held at Telford International Centre last week.
Nadeem Shaikh, managing director of SMART Way Forward, delivered workshops on areas such as ‘Getting involved in coaching and volunteering in sport’ and ‘How to sell yourself to prospective employers’.
The sessions included theory as well as practical-based experience which helped give valuable insights into the importance of coaching and volunteering in sport, along with the different pathways available to people wishing to get involved in these areas.
“It is vital that students and graduates realise that working in the sport, leisure, health and fitness industry offers some of the most exciting and satisfying employment opportunities available,” said Nadeem.
“If researched and approached in the right way, graduates can create their ideal job opportunity, making good use of their existing skills and learning new ones.”
