“We were delighted to have Nadeem address the 2010 National Sports Development Seminar delegates and his presentation was as we knew it would be, well prepared, well delivered and engaging. Nadeem has an enthusiasm and passion for what he does that he is able to transmit in any presentation and I look forward to working with him on future events.”

Welcome to the SMART Way Forward CPD Business & Coaching Conference 2013 (Midlands / North)

Nadeem ShaikhKnowledge, experience and focus are the foundations of a successful performance. Enthusiasm, consistent training, drive and determination make it happen.

The team at SMART Way Forward are very proud to introduce another in the series of Nationwide CPD Business and Coaching Conferences. This time, the event will be held at one of the most prestigious sports stadiums in the UK, Welford Road Stadium, the home of Leicester Tigers RFC on Thursday 7th March 2013!

Following the success of our first event at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre in September 2012, we have been inundated with requests to host further events in the North, South, East and West of England. Therefore we are absolutely delighted to announce this event.

SMART Way Forward CPD Business and Coaching Conferences are for inspiring, innovative people wanting to enhance their skills further through learning and continuous professional development.

For this reason, our conferences are attended by chief executives, directors, sports development managers, sports coaches and community leaders from County Sports Partnerships (CSPs), sport National Governing Bodies (NGBs), local authorities, sports clubs, leisure trusts, leisure operators, universities and commercial private sector companies looking to make a difference working within the sport leisure, health and fitness industry.

The conference programme for this event has been very carefully planned to ensure there is something for everyone. For delegates attending from the commercial world of business, there are a number of business related workshops which will not only help management teams to engage with the people better, but also help sales teams become more proactive, inspirational and strategic with their customers.

Business workshops on the day will include:

– Managing and exceeding your customers expectations by recognising behaviours

– Building strong customer relationships – telephone V email V face to face

– How to use Social Media effectively for business

– How to save money by managing overheads & operational costs effectively

In addition, for sports clubs, officials, team managers, sports coaches, community coaches, performance managers and sports development officers, there will be a variety of workshops focused entirely on the ‘softer skills’ of sports coaching. These workshops will be delivered by established coaches and industry experts who will share their knowledge and experience to help delegates get the best out of their athletes and player, especially when it matters most.

Each workshop will endorse the essential skills already being taught by NGBs through their grassroots development or elite performance pathways. However, it will focus on the softer skills required for coaching.

Coach development workshops on the day will include:

– Effective communication skills for sports coaches

– How to develop mental toughness during training & competition

– Installing a winning mentality & delivering championship performances

– An insight into your eyesight (keeping your eyes on the ball)

We have an excellent line up of speakers confirmed, including an inspirational keynote from Olympic medallist Bryan Steel, of whom are looking forward to sharing their wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise with you.

As any wise manager or coach will tell you: you never stop learning and developing your skills – so don’t ever be afraid to share knowledge and try new innovations, methods or techniques.”

The SMART Way Forward CPD Business and Coaching Conference 2013 will be a great interactive day, where you will be able to refresh existing skills, learn new ones and network with like-minded, enthusiastic people, sharing their passion for working in the sport, leisure, health and fitness industry. So don’t hesitate, please book your place onto the conference now.
